Upgrading to StrongARM
Before inserting the StrongARM processor make sure that all the DIP
switches are set down. This ensures that it is set at the maximum
speed.
Setting up !Printers
Although the RiscOS user guide doesn't mention it, you can load more
than one printer definition file for the same printer. This allows you to
change to a different printer setup at the touch of a button. For instance
if you have a colour printer you could set one definition to Mono and the
other to Colour. To do this load the first definition file into the Printer
Control window and open the printer configuration window by double clicking
on the relavent line. Change the Name to 'Mono' and the Quality to 'Mono' or
'Grey, diffused'. Click OK and you will notice that the name under the
printer icon will change to Mono. Load the same definition file again but
this time set its name to 'Colour' and the Quality to 'Colour, diffused'. On
selecting OK you will now have two icons on the iconbar named Mono and
Colour. Select whichever one you want to be default on startup and select
Save Choices from the iconbar menu. All you have to do now is select on Mono
when you want to print in black and white and on Colour when you want to
print in colour. You can have as many different settings as you like as long
as you can live with a cluttered icon bar.
